Art Therapy

Art Therapy reflects the combination of two different disciplines: Art and Psychology. The incorporation of art making within a therapeutic space allows for the exploration of thoughts, feelings and intuitions to be developed in a visual capacity. This release can be an inherent opportunity for healing but also, paired with discussion, presents an enhanced exploration of the suppressed unconscious and stored inner wounds and dialogue.

Combined with the traditional talk therapy, art enhances opportunity for self-exploration on a deeper level. The collaboration of the two can uncover what has been tucked away, stored or resisted. When visuals come to life through colors, forms, movement and so on, it is a connecting agent to the unconscious and sub-conscious parts of the brain where potential suppression is impacting one's ability to grow and heal.

When in a place of fear, anxiety, desire, shame, perfection or an egotistical sense of value, we defer to what we know, judgement, impulsivity, sarcasm, disconnection or revenge. These are defenses resisting true self-awareness, compassion and connection.

Enneagram Personality Exploration

Let’s take the time to understand the nature of you. So many answers to the why of our doing, thinking and feeling in response to experiences comes from our instinctual personality & natural impulses. In a society filled with comparison and not enough-ness, let’s get a little free to be you!

We will start off by completing an initial assessment, we will take on deep exploration of your personality type over 3-5 sessions. The initial two sessions will be information collecting and finalizing your personality type. From there, we will take a journey inward in discovering all the why’s and finish our process with new directions of empowerment, compassion

Meditation and yoga sessions require a regular intake session along with additional sessions as needed to maintain a sense of understanding of the clients needs as they evolve.

Nature vs nurture… the ages old conversation regarding the design and influence of human behavior. I find experiences and the nurture side to be fairly clear and able to be seen. Nature on the other hand, leans a bit more of mystery and a need to effort through discovery of self. Have you ever wondered why you might react differently to the same experience as the person next to you, why you’re drawn to a certain lifestyle, why you may be an introvert over and extrovert, why you cry more than others or jump more quickly to anger, escape?

Yoga & Meditation

I also believe in the power of practiced mindfulness and silence. Todays world is extremely stimulated and under the duress of immediacy. We have lost sight in practicing slowness, thoughtfulness, care to our needs to ensure fulfillment of everyone else’s needs over our own. Taking just 2-5 minutes a day can drastically change how we see what matters most in the day, week or month. I provide private and personalized yoga session as well as 20-30 minute personalized meditations to meet the needs of the client. Full yoga sessions include a meditation or guided imagery that.

There is a misperception in the world that healing negative or toxic thought patterns, panic, anxiety, overthinking, begins with the mind. I am often met with a questions and desires for skills or mechanisms to change how one thinks. I believe that healing and changing the way our thoughts manifest is first through the body. I provide personalized yoga sessions, poses and stretching to support more control in how one’s body feels and become more in tune with the alert system of our bodies.

Over the past few years I have transitioned my focus to adult work, women’s struggles, major life transitions, relational difficulties, adult autism, explorations of personalities, habits, patterns and taking on a more analytical approach to the art expression to untag the deep unconscious construct.
